I have lived in Iowa for 6 years now. But I only have an Arizona non-resident permit to carry. Is that recognized in Iowa?
Thanks |

What do you think would happen if I was carrying in Iowa with just my Arizona permit? Quoted:

If you are a resident of Iowa you must get an Iowa Permit to Carry Weapons. Only non-residents can carry with permits from other states What do you think would happen if I was carrying in Iowa with just my Arizona permit? I am going to guess the same thing that happens to someone who doesn't have a permit, arrest, charged etc.... Copy from Iowa code: 724.4 CARRYING WEAPONS.
1. Except as otherwise provided in this section, a person who goes armed with a dangerous weapon concealed on or about the person, or who, within the limits of any city, goes armed with a pistol or revolver, or any loaded firearm of any kind, whether concealed or not, or who knowingly carries or transports in a vehicle a pistol or revolver, commits an aggravated misdemeanor. |

If you are a resident of Iowa (it is possible that you aren't, depending on various definitions of "lived in" versus "permanent residence"which you should research so that you know), then your AZ permit is not valid here, and you effectively have no permit. |
