Just an FYI;

I applied in Union County, NC the first week in October and nothing yet.

It's been two months, but seems a lot longer.

Yeah, to be honest, I'm a tad worried.  I heard Union county is usually inside of four weeks.  Not for me of coarse

The wait time is all over the board. My Meck County time was exactly 60 days a few months ago.

The law NCGS 14-415.15 says the sheriff shall issue or deny a ccw permit within 90 days. You said it has been two months so they have one month to go if you don't have it within the 90 Days I would take a copy of the law down there and demand your permit. Hopefulily you don't have a sheriff like I did who tried to make up BS reasons to not issue my permit. After I threaten to sue him he change his tune and issue the permit on the spot.

It almost took me 90 days to the day.  Just wait it out it'll be all right.

61 days for me in Mecklenburg... I was shocked, but happy.

Amazing when law enforcement doesn't want to follow the law.

Just an update.......I picked up my CCW last week.  They cut it real close to the deadline.  Took 86 days.  Oh well, at least I have it.  Now I don't have to drive around with a pistol on my dashboard.

I too have applied for a permit in Union County.  I wanted to ask when you received your notification was it via the mail or a telephone call?  If you could let me know at your convenience I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks in advance for the help!

In 2007 when I got mine it was either 88 or 89 days, and that was long before the end of '08/beginning of '09 when there were supposedly over 1000 applications per week (post-obama).  Just be thankful you don't live in guilford county- long CHP waits, no machine guns, high taxes, and Bellamy-Small's crazy ass on the city council.
