Do you have to be over 23 to take the CCW class and have it count towards obtaining your permit? |

I'm certainly no authority so I might be wrong, but I'm going to guess that the answer is, "it depends". You could probably take the class regardless of age, but it might not do you any good. Are you wanting to apply for a MO permit or an out of state permit from somewhere like Utah or Florida? Utah and Florida will both issue to 21 and over. Also, I don't know the rules for all states, but I think you have to apply for the CCW endorsement/permit within a certain amount of time from having taken the class. So, depending on how old you are and which state(s) you want to obtain a CCW from, you might have to be 21 or over, 23 or over, or very close to being 21 or 23. Otherwise, your certificate verifying successful completion of the CCW class might not be valid by the time you're actually old enough to apply. I'm sure if I got any of that wrong, someone will be along to correct me, but in the mean time, I hope this helps. |
