I have had a non resident CCW permit through UTAH for some time now. I just changed my license to MO and updated my address on my CCW.
Is it legal for MO residents to CCW with an out of state non res card? Don't get me wrong, I am going to get my MO CCW eventually, but I just wondered if I was still OK for the time being. |

Should be fine, in fact back when I turned 21 and MO only issued to 23+ I got a nonresident from FL. It seems like there may be an issue with the Utah permit itself though. As I recall one state that used to be a go to for nonresident permits changed it so that you had to either live in a state that wouldn't issue you a permit or already have a permit from your home state, but I can't remember which state it was. |

Yeah, you're right. They didn't say anything to my in Utah when I called to update my address. I wonder if that is just for new permits. I found this on the application page. Non-resident proof of permit. If you reside in a state that recognizes the validity of the Utah CFP or has reciprocity with Utah, you must obtain a CFP or CCW from your home state and submit a copy of it with your application for a Utah permit. For a list of reciprocal states click here. Residency will be determined by your state-issued identification. If your state does not recognize the Utah permit this does not apply.
Oh well, like I said, I am going to get my MO when I get a chance here. I just wondered if I was GTG for the time being. I'll let you guys know if I hear from Utah about this. ETA: I remember getting something from them a while back saying that they were going to make changes to their CCW permit eligibility, but it wouldn't effect current holders. I don't know about moving though. |

Well its like this. You have till the Utah permit expires, then either you have gotten your MO permit or you revert to no longer being able to carry a CCW weapon legally. And you do realize that it can take up to 45 days to get your permit oked by the sheriff office. So, be sure you take your CCW class no later than say 60 days prior to your Utah permit expiring.
Hey guys, was there also a requirement that you have been a resident of MO for a given period of time? Is that still standing? |

Quoted: You might wanna check with Utah or look on their website,If I remember correctly . Effective Jan 1 2012,if you do not have a permit from your home state, your Utah isn't valid. Yeah we got that... sorta. The question now is; was the change retroactive or does it only effect new applications/renewals. |

6 month wait period was removed a while ago. Now you just must establish residence before applying. |
