I am signed up for my CHL Class with Advanced Gunworks.....  I have used them for a few projects and bought a few rifles from them, but not for CHL.

Does anyone have any insight to their class or heard anything?  I am told they teach it at Cabela's and use a private range they have nearby for shooting.  Any input is appreciated as class is this weekend.  I am told instructor is former Beret

Is there another class somewhere else?

Here is the info: http://www.advancedgunworks.com/chl_courses.php
Any help is appreciated.  I hope I don't need thousands of posts in order to get people to respond.  I know some have 10,000 posts, but I simply can't average 5 post per day for the past few years....I am not sure how anyone does that, without drawing unemployment

I know the guys over there and although I have not taken their CHL course yet, I probably will next year when I'm up for renewal. I believe everything you've heard so far is accurate, but I'll bet the weather may disrupt your class this weekend. If it does, spend some time here, upping your post count.

Thank you for the reply.  Nice to see that thousands and thousands of posts are not always necessary.

I will let you know how they do with the class.  I did get an email from someone who took it and say there instructors do a great job presenting boring material.

Thanks again

Great class and they got everything in despite the weather coming in.  Their instructor did a great job making mundane info easier to sit through and digest.

I would recommend them....their next class is October 11 I think he said FWIW.

Not a bad class.
I think the instructor did a fine job. The Weather made it an interesting class.

There were some things they could have been covered that are not part of the course...And really should have been known already before people came to the class IMO. But we all know that not everyone is going to be on the same page all the time and classes should be prepared to handle these contingencies.

Such as: Some in the class did not understand the differences between single and double action weapons. The instructor only had one weapon there, so he could not really show the differences. A recommendation would be to bring a few types of weapons for demonstration and to make explanations easier.

All in all though, not bad and I would recommend them.
