What is the current waiting time for a renneral for CHL?

I have sent the proper forms and payment in for a renewal for my CHL, sent in on 4/3, but no word.

Time to worry, or stay patient?

Worry and check online for the status. That should tell you if it's held up for something or gone to manufacture and in the mail. Last I did it was 30 days turnaround.

Checked online for status, site says waiting for forms, but they did take my money

Wonder what rould happen if I sent another set in snail mail????

mine has said that 3 weeks. I had called and verified they had all my paperwork. so it really doesn't mean anything.

As an Instructor, I have recent students reporting 2 plus months.

Patience is the word..... ;)

Just did my third renewal, meaning no classroom or shooting. I filled out everything online and got my new card in exactly two weeks.

ETA: Those with actual paperwork, photos, and/or fingerprints that need to be processed will take longer. My dad submitted everything for his first CHL sometime in April, and the last we checked, his status still showed "waiting for documents".

Sent my renewal info around 4/20 & received in mail today.

Took five weeks for mine. The status stays on waiting for forms, then it will change to manufacturing.
