Looks like guns and ammo (Ruger Mark III .22s)  are included in the $80.  They say it is to avoid gun reliability issues.  Makes sense you never know what kind of POS gun could show up if you let everyone bring their own.

I'm not familiar with these folks.  The plus side is 5 hours of class if you want to get it done and over with.  The downside is less training and large class size.  My gun club CCW classes are limited to somewhere in the 20-30 size range with about 9 hours classroom and 2-3 hours range time.  Cost $150 for non-members now, but the instructors go beyond the basic requirements and hit on scenarios and very basic tactics.  (At least they did 10 years ago when I took the class.)

When you have the large class sizes it is impossible to control all the guns and ammo behind the line. Some yahoo will be handling a firearm when they arent supposed to. This way the hand guns stay on the line and loaded when ready. The next shooters inline are loading magazines for their coarse of fire.
Another issue is new shooters showing up with a pistol they have never fired. This a couple times in a class can drag out the day for everyone else. Most people taking the class have the shooting expirence and just need the CPL training.
Ruger should use the MK Iii's from this class in a advertisement . We were figuring out how many rounds a year and it was crazy and they just keep working.

If I had been teaching that many people. I would have done the same thing.
We could only have 6 shooters on line at a time. 3 Instructors covering two shooters. We had a lot of issues and many times let someone use a Glock.

I got out of teaching on a regular schedule because there just wasn't enough money to cover overhead. I am glad these guys can do a class for $80.
