Anyone hear about this system or the controversy around it? Apparently this commie indoctrination is in most of our Texas schools. As a parent I'm worried.

I truly wish I could say this surprises me, but the Texas Education system has been broken for years.   I'm more familiar with Region 10 and some of their behavior modification BS that was slipped into Math and Social Studies programs 30 years ago....  The bottom line is that Parents MUST take and keep an interest in what their Kids are learning.   The latest approach seems to be they no longer have textbooks, and the teacher gives handouts over the materials instead.  Fortunately, my kids are used to me asking in great detail what they learned in school - it's required drive home and dinner conversation

Mine are still quite young, just starting in the system, the cultural stuff would be over their heads. But this has got to change.

My wife says CSCOPE is shit. Her current district doesn't use it. They write their own. She has written a good bit of curriculum for them. She actually got into trouble for not using CSCOPE at one district she worked for. She had 98% passing rate in her Algebra I class. The board wanted to know how and when they found out, they moved her to Jr high science. Guess they were pissed they wasted $50,000 on just the math curriculum.....

I do not like the fact there are no text books because I can't check them for bias. You can however go online and google the TEKS and see what the TEA expects teachers to teach. Not sure about CSCOPE though.

I think you're correct, a bunch of does not align with TEKs. But apparently it's in most of our schools, and it's been reported to be full of anti-american bias. Teachers have to teach it verbaatim in their class and cannot share lessons with parents under penalty of law. Crazy shit.

Homeschool is how to avoid this crap; yea, you have to give up somethings to afford it, but
what's your kids future worth?

We're in 6th grade, 1st Class Boy Scouts, both boys go hunting with me, both shot an Appleseed
& hunt squirrles in the backyard;

they are the new minority; those that can fend for themselves, (cook, garden, clean game)
believe in God & know critial thinking better than most FSA privates,,,,course that ain't that
hard to do.
