Worth joining and what benefits?

They are the state affiliate of the NRA.  As such, they sanction and support NRA shooting events and competitions in Colorado.

On the legislative front, I thought they were woefully ineffective during the gun bills debates on the state level.  You heard about NRA, RMGO, Magpul;, but I don't ever recall hearing about CSSA being heavily involved.  I know they were there, but I don't think they were effective or persuasive on any front.

If you like to support shooting sports and competitions, it seems like a worthwhile group to belong to.

Not sure how I feel about supporting them on the political front.

For the record, I am not a member.

CSSA works behind the scenes. Unlike RMGO they don't feel the need to trumpet their actions from the roof tops. They also don't slog your e-mail continuously, or strong arm you in to joining.

F Dudley.  I'll post some links to his latest BS when I get home.

The only reason why I will too.

Uncle_Big_Green - link please.  BTW, I've heard some of the shenanigans of Dudley.  He's not CSSA though, is he?

Not to my knowledge.  I doubt that he'd belong to anything that doesn't have his name at the top of its list.  The most recent link is in the BB thread.  There are also threads here in HTF and in GD.  Do searches on the Dud, NAGR and RMGO.  You may have seen some of them already.

PM me for my 2 cents and encounter... or if you want, I'll post later, but I don't feel like typing it all right now.  The search results should keep you busy for awhile.

ETA: most of us  aren't posting things about the guy because we don't like him (most of us don't like him), but because he is doing the cause of freedom harm.

Thanks UBG.  I found one. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1269051_Scam_being_run_by_the_National_Association_for_Gun_Rights.html

My main thing right now is to be eligible to buy from ODCMP.

If you're a member of a range that participates in the CMP you're GTG, and or a veteran.
