OK.... I know everyone is going crazy buying up lowers, but I have a question.  We have a ban now.  If a federal assault weapon ban was legislated, then it would probably mirror the original ban.  So, we can still buy "post-ban" weapons now.  What (in everyones speculation) would be different in an Obama ban?  If he is just looking to re-new the prior ban (as his past statements have been) then high-caps are the things to buy.

And ammo of course.... I can't wait until the 100% tax!

definately see an expanded one which may include rifles that are legal now
I had the opportunity to buy some prebans prior to AWB but didn't act on it and regret it now.

There fixed it for ya
But seriously the ban will be at least a repeat of the 94 AWB and a mirror of our current ban but will include another 10 round magazine limit again and no sunset provision. Beyond that the sky's the limit for the Obama, Pelosi, Reid trifecta. They can pretty much do what they want becuase as we've seen in this past election people want "change" and don't care how much it will impact them financially or via loss of existing "rights".

Anyone who thinks they won't take a run at our guns isn't seeing the signals being sent by the other side. They want to take them period, and have said so on numerous public occasions and on their websites. They now think they can with Obama in the White House since they think they won't loose the seats like they did the last time. The bottom line is most politicians don't learn from history, most people never do, and as such will all will be doomed to repeat it, again, and again, and again.

We will have no idea of what the "preban" dates will be (if any) until the wording of the new ban is made public.  I have some current preban lowers now but I will be stocking up on some brand new lowers just to bolster my numbers.

the funny part is that they say they are enforcing these bans to protect people but they don't work because if your buying a gun to commit a crime your not going to buy a $1,000+ "assault Rifle" to do it.  or if your a felon then the laws don't matter to you because you can't buy from a gun store so a background check is all that is really needed.  I am from CT but am stationed in AZ, I love this place all the guns you want with anything on them, I think I can only legally bring 2 of my 8 guns to CT.  America is going down hill.

The more reason to either stay there or find another friendlier state.

There were at least one AWB proposal that was circulating within the last yr but got shot down, it was more inclusive.
