I've sent for the necessary formage to apply fpr a C&R license, and I've got a clear understanding of what I can and can't do with a C&R, but I 'm curious if anybody out there has had any negative experiences, as a result of having a C&R license. I'm willing to accept the additional paperwork and BATF oversight that accompanies the license, so these are not the negatives that I'm curious about. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I'm not aware of any "BATFE oversight" other than you get their mailers. As for paper work, having and keeping up "bound book" type records is probably something one should consider doing regardless of the firearms involved.
The only negative I've had so far is when trying to get a C&R discount, even after sending places a copy of the C&R license, they seem to not have it associated with my account. However, Brownell's does have the account and C&R associated and always passes along the discount. Best of luck with your endeavors. Not legal advice, MHO, YMMV, etc. |
| BATF has stepped up the number of C&R FFL inspections. Check out the C&R Forum in the Armory section of ARFCOM. Just have your paper work in order and enjoy. Some great deals out there on some fine weapons. Plus more and more "modern" firearms are hitting the 50 year mark, like older Remington 870s. |
