anyone else here bowfish????? Yep! MANY years ago, last time was 1980 and it was in Louisiana (Homa). I used a 60# bow....... ...but, when we would go to the Gulf of Mexico is where it really got interesting.....schools of fish would come approx. 10'-20' away from shore and we would pluck 'em from there. That is if the (blue) Dungenous Crab didn't get us first.
Good Times! |

There are plenty o' blue crabs... and even stone crabs, but no dungeness that I know of. Stone crab claws: http://www.theclawhouse.com/images/CrabSizes.jpg And the oh-so-delicious blue crab: http://flyingfishshop.com/GMPicts/CrabBlue.jpg Yeah......those right there, all I know is they hang-out in the shallow water and if you aren't paying attention......you just caught one with your toes! ....no friggin' fun for a kid, but DAMN good eatin'. How l miss the big-ass crawdad / crab / shrimp bakes from the south. |
