LE Advice: Its not criminal; no crime as been committed. I assume a deal was arranged where you, the buyer, gave the seller money in exchange for the promise of an item. This is a purely civil issue and can only be resolved in the appropriate civil court. Unless the seller forged the dollar amount on a check, there is nothing an law enforcement agency can do but refer you to court.

However, whereabouts in the Catskill region does this person reside?
