| I recently filled out the change of address form and mailed it in, but I'm curious to see when I'll get my new license with updated info. I sent it in about 6 weeks ago and haven't seen anything yet. |

I sent mine out as well. My wife hasn't gotten anything back from the DMV, but she's changing her last name and has to go in to get a new photo snapped. I checked out the DMV's website to find out if they will issue a new certificate of title for my car with my new address, but I haven't found anything so far. It's not like I'll be buying a handgun, or any kind of gun for that matter anytime soon. |
I've got a hankerin for a new pistol, that's why I've got my tit in a ringer over this. I figured a month and a half I'd see something....I know there's forms and crap I can fill out at the gun shop but I'd rather not. |
| the easiest thing would have been to just goto the dmv and do the change of address there. they would have given you a paper (signed by the dmv) with the new address that you would keep with your DL. i was told the only way to get a new DL was when my old DL expired. the change of addresss is only for the computer system and not the actual DL. i sent in my papers also, but didnt actually get a new DL until i paid for it and it took over 1 year. try calling them up and asking them. |
Bastards Maybe I'll say I lost my license in the

| You cal call the DMV and see if the change of address went through. Unless you have renewed your license since sending in the COD, they will NOT be mailing you a new, updated license. You need to print out your new address and attach it to or keep it with your license. Your change of address ticket on the back of a license is good enough for purchasing a longgun or handgun. For handguns you just want your "proof of residency" to match the COD you have, but I thin klegally all it needs to do it match the address you give on the DROS. |
