Going to visit/house hunt in May. Trying to find a rental house that's pet friendly for the week - any recommendations? Been scouring the internet for a week or so. Or if you have a property ... IM me. :)
Second, I have my in-state VA resident CCW. I should be OK carrying while on vacation, right? Once I move officially just transfer it over? Any areas of Charleston to avoid moving into? Both of our jobs are going to be near the airport. Thanks! |

Once you have declared residency you can start the process to apply for a CWP. You cannot simply "transfer over". You must fill out the application, get fingerprints (do they still require a photo?), and take the 8-hour class and range qualification. Then you mail it in. And wait. And wait. And Wait.
I believe you must reside here for a min. of 30 days which is a lot better than what it used to be prior to changes in CWP law in 2002 the waiting period for new residents was one freakin' year. |

I didn't mean just swap out CCW cards; just meant the process of transferring my in-state CCW to SC. I read the req's; don't seem all that different than VA. Shouldn't be an issue, aside from the wait time. |

Here your going to take a eight hour class and bring a weapon to shoot and qualify with. Eta: we don't have open carry here like Virginia. |
