| Just got back from G.I. Joes in Medford. American Eagle 223 ammo is on sale for 3.99/box. They still had a good supply there. Don't know about the other stores. Just a heads up, since this brings it down to $200/1000 (which sadly is pretty darn good). Their other ammo is also on pretty good sales for hunting loads. |

Count yourself lucky :( Called ahead to some of these stores which I wa s told they had it in. GI Joes on 82nd - no 7.62x39 - guy even said they normally have it all the time, just not now Bi-Mart on woodstock - no 7.62x39 - was told via phone it was in, some old lady told me THATS A BULLET? then told me they had none in stock..... Sportsmans Warehouse on 82nd - no 7.62x39 that I could see, 1 worker couldnt find any either. 2 smaller non chain gun shops that sell ammo and still nothing. I found a SINGLE bullet in all my stuff I have and brought the gun specifically for that single bullet. I have to order online tonight :( BLEH Do you know if that store had the x39 in? |
Just bought 2k at Sportsmans Guide for $166 per 1000. Can't remeber the exact name, but came with a nod from this site as decent ammo. Ammo will be here in a few days, I'll post a report If I ever get out to shoot any of it. Shipping was not bad at all like $20 and I had a $10 coupon deal. TPDSOT USAUG.com (under const.) |
Good luck. SG has been kind of a hit or miss deal for a while now as far as folks actually getting what they ordered and at the agreed upon price. |

got some AE 223 and 45acp. the sales clerk asked" what kind of pistol are you using this for"? I responded "1911". clerk"oh well do you like your 1911"? I was puzzled and said "yea why..." He went on to tell me about his 3000$ Kimber and how he would never shoot those though it because the powder was dirty and would damage my gun and so on. yea give me 2 boxes of those over priced little suckers and have a nice day. I guess he only shoots hydroshocks or golden sabers though his Kimber

Just an FYI. Medford Gi Joes is out of the .233 (its how the advertised sticker calls it !!!) They told me they had 30k coming and it should be there Friday. They did issue a rain check for all I wanted though and said if it didn't come in they would order it for me. Steve |
