Taking the new GF to shoot Sunday @ Cheatham if any of you crackheads wanna meet up? Got my super-uber TACTICAL Safariland IPSC rig to test out too!!!!!  In case ya'll didn't know it yet, Cheatham doesn't open up until noon these days.  Last time out, killthewabbit & I were hanging raw eggs off of a string & popping them with handguns. Kinda cool, it left no doubt if it was a hit or miss. I declined his kind offer to move to hanging a grape!

No....It was a regular chicken egg....although it DID take him a few mags worth before he hit it..... Where as I....the newbie....got it on th' 1st shot, then got another one on th' 2nd shot. After that I'd rather not say  But ya really want to see ole Bob shine.....Put a dozen or two steel plates in front of him and stand back and watch a master go to work!!! He's got some real issues to work out with STEEL!

I want to go shooting but I believe I will be going out to pick up a new rifle.  Isn't is unsanitary to leave raw egg laying on the ground? You know with salmonella and such. You know some of the locals that pick up the brass there don't have tumblers so they swish around the brass in their mouth to clean it. You need to be a little more careful. Think of the locals. OK. looking out for you two is turning into a full time job I tell you. I hope you have fun tomorrow. |

No one else showed but the GF & I. She learned how to shoot on an old .38 Colt Police Positive & some wadcutter ammo. A friend of mine who also went let her try his Glock 19 & Star 9mm. Next time we'll take along an air tank, blow up & hang some balloons for her to pop while shooting. She seemed to find the clays a bit daunting.  Hot as hell there too! |
Yea one thing for sure, there is no air movement down there in the pit. Glad you had a good time though. I will make the next one I promise. I have too many "sight in's" that need to be done. Matter of fact I need to get off my butt and reload. I need to adopt/rent about 12 older kids. That way I can teach them to reload. That would help me tremendously. Know where I can maybe rent a few for a week or two?

I was there from about 1 until 2:30 and didn't see anyone with an AR15 so I assumed there were no ARFCOMers about. Hmmm, were you wearing ao orange shirt, cammo NRA hat, NRA belt buckle, girlfriend in blue? If so I was right next to you. |

No, we were on the handgun range. I know who you're talking about, I think that poor women has just done some chemo a bit back or may still be doing it. Did she have the do-rag on her head????? Nice folks, I've helped them/her a time or two on the handgun range. Did you catch the guy with the Armalite .50 & the MAC full auto with the can??????? |

Why don't you two get a room?  I wished I would have made it out there. Did your wife make it down with you Jeep29? Tell her Hello for me. I will try to get a shoot together in the next two weeks, hopefully on a Sat. or Sunday and maybe we can load up the Cheatham co. range like the old'en days. It would be nice to see some of the old and meet some of the new faces on here. No Bob, the reference to "old" wasn't directed towards you. I meant old as in members. |
We're in Boloxi, MS at the Imperial Palace and the wifey is laying on the bed naked after a hard 10 minutes of losing my July ammo budget. She's wondering why I'm on the computer checking ARFCOM. As soon as I told her you said hi all was ok  No, she didn't make it to the range. She had all her girl stuff taken out the wed before so she was recovering. A 600 mile trip to the beach and losing the family fortune is all part of her recovery.If you plan a shoot I'll try my best to get there. Hate to think I'm missing out on anything. |
 I hope her recovery goes well. You guys dont have too much fun there. BTW: You know they wont let you shoot the 50 cal. on the beach, dont you.
