Just walked, in...utterly knackered and extremely happy.
Without a doubt the finest weeks shooting i,ve ever enjoyed. What a truly great bunch of people . Our thanks go to Mark for organising it all, and making us very welcome. His RO,s and many helpers who did the same, and all the guys on here , whom we had the Craic with all week. Side splittingly funny at times. I havent had the card out of the camera yet, but there are a load of pics i intend putting up later in the week. If for any reason anyone doesn,t want their fizzhog in print, please mail me, and i wont put their pic up [or at least try. ] |

Well what can I say?
Just walked in the door and managed to unpack the van, Totally knackered, sunburnt and entirely happy. This has by far been the best one we've organised so far. I can't believe it all ran so smoothly. I have to thank everyone who helped from both NRA/NSC and all the RO's and stats people and everyone else who mucked in. Glad you enjoyed yourselves and roll on next time. Well done to the LPSC who beat us in todays Methuen and to Martin and Beardie for organising that one too. Time for some food and an early night

What a great five days of shooting, got home around 9-30pm Sunday night, too tired to be bothered to switch on the laptop. Kit squared away, cases in the tumbler and thinking about next year.
A special thanks to all my Methuen team members for their efforts (we came last again |

Nice pics Steve, What's the story with the 10wash on the Fig14 ? Photo was taken on Thurs morning IIRC, wasn't shot on my lane though. Probably a practical optic shooter ? ETA - Did nobody else take any pics ? Post'em up if you've got'em
ETA2 - Are any of the French Methuen Team members on here ? |

Nice pics Steve, What's the story with the 10wash on the Fig14 ? did someone get robbed
I've just looked too & can't see it in the scores either, it was taken on Century, not on the Running Deer range. |

R Seaton, shooting Bisley Bullet at 200 yards prone, 10 Wash, he's an LPSC member shooting SGC .223 AR in Practical Optic off an Atlas bipod. Yes, I thought it was him after looking at the Bisley Bullet results. I have that rifle here....for a brake change
Now, this leads me on to a rant.... Before the meeting I was asked what the position was with brakes in CSR, as they're prohibited in other disciplines at Bisley. I argued that CSR differed as shooters aren't bunched up 3 to a point, but in fact have a complete lanes separation, ie about 12' They said that this was a fair point, but this leads me on to the minor rant....why on earth do shooters have to tuck themselves right up to the lane number peg instead of shooting in the centre of their lane? If this is done, the separation reduces with the shooter to their right who so chooses to shoot in the centre of their lane to around 6'. Not very much distance, especially if someone is using a brake, and even more so if their rifle is a .308 or whatever. It's downright nasty and bordering on the selfish as it can be so off-putting that it can affect your scores and performance which can lead to a spoiled experience and poor results and competition. I'd love to see everyone get away from this hugging the peg and get back to shooting in the middle of their lane. That's it |
|
If everyone is hugging the peg does it matter as they'll be an equal distance apart? I guess on the rundowns it's easier to run towards your peg? Where do people on the end of a butt go, 6 feet away from their peg? They can't go in the middle of the pegs unless they can shoot through a flagpole |

Do they move too? etc etc etc So is the rule "shoot in the centre except when you don't want to cause there is a brake next to you? I say go near to the peg, (hopefully) less cross shooting as RNsub says, its easier to run to your next peg and people who don't like brakes can shut up their moaning, I was next to funkys brake during most of the imperial and occasionally got a blast from it but I don't find it puts me off that much. (FTR I don't run a brake on any of my rifles) Is it really a big issue? |
|
What if you move to your peg and the person next to you is a lefty?
It's not really a big issue, but it could be. I just think that at times a little consideration is missing. I was shooting alongside Achim with his .308 Armnaleg and did get the full effect of his muzzle blast on a couple of occasions, in factbi remember on the Saturday waiting until after he fired before I fired my shots on a couple of exposures. One did catch me out. I'm not moaning, but do find it amusing how people tuck themselves up against their peg. I think it is a comfort blanket thing going on here

Go on just ban them on Sevice Optic Class, everything else has been banned without any consultation. ![]() I miss my AFG... guess it makes a change from missing the target ;-) I'm giving serious thought to going over to practical optic to get it back, don't care about the mag/bipod but would like the AFG back. |

Oh teh noes.... gunz go bang!!!! Pleeeeeeeeez make it stop. http://asset.ninemsn.com.au/img/000/000/138/636/10%20Year%20Anniversary%20Crying%20Edition.gif I had this issue at an indoor range I used to frequent with my .30 carbine...The charcoal burners used to hate it... It was rather loud, but as I explained to them, we were at a gun club, not a sewing circle !
