I was wondering if you all know of any dealers in the Louisville area. I’m looking into getting a m4-2k and I don’t want to make the drive out to Lexington if I don’t have to.

Shooter's Supply in Lyndon is now a stocking class 3 dealer. They have a decent variety of suppressors too. A lot of people here are not fans of Shooter's, but they've usually treated me well. You just have to talk to the right guys there, and it might take you a little while to find the right guys. Some of them I refuse to deal with, but like I said, there are a couple there that I feel good buying from.

And from what they tell me, their Form 4s have been coming back relatively quickly.

Of course, based largely on recommendations from people here on the HTF, I've got two cans waiting for me in Rex's safe in Paris.

This is where I like to store my toys till they are ready for pick up. Great guy. I have a couple on the way there, as soon as the ATF does their thing...

As far as shooters.

Did shooters tell you which examiner they have? And did they define quick?
Just curious as I am staying with Rex..

I asked which examiner they had, and he didn't know. He told me that they're averaging about 6-8 weeks send to receive though.

Shooters supply can burn to the ground for all I care. I’ve been in their shop in the past to check it out and one dude was a complete dbag and their prices were pretty high. I’ve also sent emails in the past inquiring on some items and they never got back to me.

I emailed Matt at Lotus and he got back to me within the hour and was very helpful in answering all my questions.

Thanks for the replies everyone

I first went into Lotus a couple weeks ago looking for a lower, they were about the lowest I found in town, but I had a chance to get a couple in a group buy so I did that instead, but their pricing on everything else seemed to be just a modest markup on what it'd cost me to order it, which is rare in a shop nowadays, most want to double their money and have bad help, thats why they are going the way of the dodo. Lotus has great staff, every one of them has been helpful, and even went as far as to say if you see something online cheaper than in our store, bring up a part number and a website and we will see if we can beat it. They are tops in town in my opinion.

I wish my experience there had been the same. I went in there several months ago. Their prices seemed a bit high, and though I was the only customer in the store, nobody said a word to me as I browsed. I walked out not having said a word to anyone.

I keep hearing good things about them, but haven't experienced the good things myself.

If I was in the market for Class III stuff in Louisville I would definitely go to Lotus first.  Not saying I would buy it there but I would let them educate me and at least see what they had to say.  They had the best selection of Class III that I have seen in Louisville and they were very friendly the few times I stopped by.

Man, the second time I ever went in there the owner talked to me for 30 minutes about all the post ban rifles they had and how much each one would cost to make full auto.  They had a Sig 552, several AKs, MP5s, and Uzis.  I was price checking $20 Magpul parts and he just keep showing me these amazing $16,000 machine guns.  That is freakin cool and exactly what I want out of my gun shops.  I recommend you go in there and ask the owner any firearms question you have.  I over paid $2 on a $28  part but I still feel I got my moneys worth.

I decided to go back in there today after hearing about the decent price on stripped lowers since I needed one, hoping I'd have better luck with Lotus this time. Ended up getting the last lower they had, and the guy helping me started showing me some other stuff. I could tell he was trying to upsell me, which is fine, I worked in sales once and know what it's like. Figured I'd humor him and asked how much they dealt in used guns, so he took me over to the back section (which wasn't there the last time I was in there?). I've been looking for a Gen2 Glock 19, so I asked him about that. He said very few of those come through, but hey, he's got a great price on a couple Gen2 G17 trade-ins. Ah, what the hell, I'll look at them. Long story short, he ended up giving me a great deal and I was out the door with a lower and a basically new Gen2 G17.

I hate giving in to sales guys, but I couldn't pass up the offer he made me. I'll have to take some pics of this Glock tomorrow. Zero finish wear, still has the factory lube in it. I'm guessing the cop was a desk jockey...

But yeah, I had better luck with Lotus this time.

I went in there today and picked up a couple pmags (14.99 each), an ASAP ($29.99), a BCM Gunfighter Mod.3 Large latch ($47.99) and a Magpul MS2 sling ($59.99), and the only place I feel I overpaid was the sling, but everyone is sold out of them, so I went ahead and grabbed it. Also chatted with the clerks for about 25 minutes before I made my purchase and they were nice all around.

How much for the G17's, I need a couple to round out my standardization set.
