PM me, I have multiple friends that work at different honda dealers across St. Louis that if given my name will not F you around Thanks, PM sent. Im in the KCMO area, but would travel for a deal. I understand travelling for a deal, but be honest with yourself: what's your time and energy worth? The margins on Hondas - especially things like the Fit - are so thin that they won't be more than a few hundred different from local dealers. Six hours of round trip driving plus whatever time at the dealership ... eh. I went through this with the last new car we bought. Made calls to four or five dealers in a two-hour radius. Local dealer was about $300 higher on a new C-RV (EX). We got them to add splash guards or something, but for that little it wasn't worth the hours of driving. Also, if something went really wrong and you have to make a scene in a showroom, it's much easier to do when you only have to drive a half hour.

Fit is an amazing car, but Honda has next to NO margin on it.
It is not like a domestic pickup truck where at the end of the year they get rebates and hold backs to throw around like Obama spending taxpayer money. Fits are selling FOR sticker price here in Houston with no negotiation because the demand is high and supply is way too low. Honda build a new Factory in Mexico to build the Fits. They have had ... "issues" with Mexican produced Hondas (especially CR-V) I'd really suggest waiting for a few months for the supply to get better (maybe some pricing flexibility then) and for Honda to work out the problems with the Auto-Amigos south of the Rio Grande... My .02 cent... BIGGER_HAMMER

Thanks to everyone that has sent me info SShockwave: Decision was made. I did find out about the "low margin" and traveling didn't really make sense at that point. Quoted:

They have excellent re-sell value, I couldn't find that many used fits. Seems owners keep them. After negotiation and being lectured about low margins, the 2015 base fit was $15900 out the door (sticker was $16315) With tint and a tank of gas. Probably could have squeezed more, but I didn't have all day. Its a pretty impressive car, for what it is. A big mistake, was not realizing the damn thing doesn't come with floor mats
