| I asked this in my home forum, but I wanted the expertise of you folks like Bookhound, etc. too - is $100 a good price for a great condition Colt SP1 upper (with barrel, but no bolt/carrier)? Thanks for the assistance. |
Hey you, just driving through give you ZERO credibility. He needs to send ME the seller's info. btw, I'd buy it. ByteTheBullet (-: |

I stopped to buy fireworks on the way to Disneyland, I think that makes me a southerner. CDNN is selling these for $ 399 w/o bolt/ carrier/charging handle. If it's in decent shape I'd certainly grab if for $ 100. I would think you could resell if for more if you decided not to keep it. |
That doesn't prove you actually stopped here! Fireworks are ILLEGAL here in Jaw-Ja. I wouldn't trust this guy...well, except for the gun info. Do you like sweet ice tea? ByteTheBullet (-: |
Aimless, you weren't watching the "Dukes", you were watching one in particular, you know, Daisy, the one in the short short short shorts. Me too..... |

the cheapest i have ever seen an upper was $200 for a barrelled upper . the finish was badly worn and there were NO markings at all on the barrell or upper and the aluminum upper was banged up either from use or misuse. YES buy it! who in the world has never had sweet tea? what do yankees drink? |
Never had Sweet Tea? You ain't no southerner then. I went to New York city one time and ordered a glass of "sweet tea" with dinner. The waitress just looked at me kind of puzzled like and turned around and walked away. About 10 minutes later, she came back with a cup of hot water with 2 tea bags in it. I said" OK, I get it" I then told her to bring me a big glass of Ice and some lemon and made my own sweet tea. Anyway, I have no plans to go back to that godforsaken place. Tommy GPSS |
Wow you must be mad rich or a pyro one. Buying fireworks in a state that does not sell them is a big no-no. And if you came through Ga to go to Disney"Land" you cant read a map either. Cali is far to the left of GA! Just bustin some balls on a northerner! |

I might have tried some the g/f had, if I remember it was pretty yicky. I can't handle the heat down there anyway. We were shooting in KY last month and the g/f kept asking if I was alright, I guess I looked like I was about to flop over from heat exhaustion. Man I know air conditioning really changed the population levels in the south, but I still don't know how you guys stand it. I hate being down there for the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas SUCK without snow! And how are you supposed to see the deer if there's no snow (ha bet you never knew that one!) Sure like the taxes down there better though |

How in the hell do you handle the cold up there? |
It's beautiful here most of the year, I think summer here on Lake Ontario is as close as it gets to heaven. It is brutal in late Dec through February sometimes, worse than some parts of Alaska. But I grew up with it. The cold isn't bad if you dress properly and if you're out hunting or something you're moving around and stay warm anyway, harsh blowing wind is the danger because of frost bite, but it's also beautiful in a harsh way. One of the prettiest (or most striking) things I ever saw was a bad blizzard rolling in across the Saint Lawrence River and across the woods and farms between the shore and where I was, while I was in the top of tree stand way way up in the air-(too way way up, I was above the frickin' treetops, that was one my buddy made.) I could see the slate grey clouds for MILES. Took a good sized buck on the way back to the truck too, it's amazing the heat you feel from them gutting them as the snow starts to hit hard. My girl wants to eventually relocate to the South, though she grew up here she HATES the winter, I just can't picture not seeing rabbits ripping along the top of the snow like little race cars ever again. |
