| After a virtual lifetime away from NM, I'm coming Home...Left the state as a military brat in the 50's. I need some suggestions from some of you local folks who share the same firearm mentality as I do. Water availability in some of the rural areas concern me (perhaps unfounded). I am retired, so the employment situation is not an issue. The area I'm looking at is in the Pie Town area. High altitude, cool evenings in the summer etc.. Remote, quiet, firearm friendly, close knit community, any suggestions??? Looking to relocate summer / fall 2014.. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks! |

That whole area along Highway 60 is pretty nice. In addition to Pie Town, I would look in Quemado or Datil too. Not much in the way of services at Pie Town. Decent shopping and services are about an hour and a half away in Springerville, Arizona or a little longer if you go to east to Socorro. At least Quemado has some stores and a gas station or two. Datil has a gas station and a cafe and that is about it. |
