Hey there. I'm new to the forum, just moved to Wisconsin a couple of years ago. Just wondering, are there any shooting competitions around here? I'm in the south east-ish area and haven't really heard of much. I only have a handgun for now, but I'd also like to know if there are any 3-gun competitions...or anything else.

Thanks!

Hi, welcome.

Go to WRPA to see the competition listings.  Wisconsinshooters.com is a good source, and they focus more on the IDPA style handgun competition listings.

There are USPSA and Uspsa type matches at Oconomowoc and Schultz's(Muskego) once and twice a month.
Ripon has Uspsa and IDpa if you want to drive north.

The Springbrook club is having a USPSA match tomorrow at the Ripon, outdoor range, and Hartland is having an IDPA match.

The only full-blown, 3-gun matches in Wisconsin are at the Holmen club, North of LaCrosse. The next match is July 19th.

The Oconomowoc matches are the best.

The other places seem to have problems with the regular shooters not wanting to tape targets.

Really? Before I got sick I would shoot matches almost every weeked. Many of the same people each match would shoot and sit while others did the work. I should not have said that Ocono was immune. I happens almost everywhere. Next match, take a look at who is taping and resetting and who is not.

I have seen where folks will show up to shoot (Instead of showing up early to help set up) and then leave as soon as it's done (without staying to help tear down), but as far as taping... Most pull there weight. In general, the majority work together..
