About 70lbs I reckon

Could be more, Compounds let off to a lower hold weight. I don't know the %age, if its 70total then the hold may be much lower.

I used to shoot a recurve years ago but it was only 40lb draw. Crossbows back in the day from Barnett did 125-175lb. The Commando was featured in a James Bond movie.

A friend of my Dad's built one that shot a bolt through a railway sleeper one summer

My compound's set at about 65, so by looking at him pull that back, I'd say about 70 or so

Nothing as fancy as that.
I bought one of PSE Archery Thunderbolt. Does what the others do, has adjustable limbs, adjustable sights, 100gn carbon arrows.
I think its pretty impressive. quite accurate and loads of power.
I really should use it more

discussed this about 12 months ago with a couple FEO's I know. They run at 75+ pounds so would be FAC. Cant see them appearing in the uk

Yep, my little 40lb recurve was free. Did me proud. Used to make my own arrows and fletch them from crow feathers. That was back when you could buy broadheads from Quicks and wood blanks in the UK. Hight of tech arrows back then were alluminium shafts.

I have a few of these hidden away though.

Thunder Head Broadheads from 85 Grains to 125. Legal to own by the way, just not to use on game  in the UK.

http://www.newarchery.com/products/1-15/broadheads/thunderhead.html  Handy as most of Europe allows Bowhunting:)

Pointless, gizmo's IMHO. I have my compound set up at 40lbs and am quite happy shooting it all day, even after having surgery on my rotator cuff a couple of years ago. Want to shoot a pellet then my HW35 or HW50 get used...
