I have a document in my documents folder. It is in Microsoft Word format. I want to upload it to a website. Every time I try, the website says it only accepts documents in  Word or text. I've tried it eleventybillion times. It's enough to make me go back to pron and forget job hunting. Any suggestions not involving tannerite?

Which version of word are you using, if the file extension on the end of the file name is .docx then you are using Microsoft Office 2007. Most places still only take Word documents from Office 2003 and prior. Try opening up the document, click the Office emblem in the top left, click the arrow next to Save As and then select Word 97-2003 Document, give it a filename and then try to upload. If this doesn't work, open the document, select all (ctrl+a) then copy everything (ctrl+c) now click the start flag (or button depending on OS) and go to accessories, open up wordpad and then paste (ctrl+V) now save this document and try uploading it.

Most places i know just still use the older formats for Office.

I'll write all that down and try it. I'll letcha know how I do. I'm on Firefox, a year old Dell and don't yet know which version of Word I'm using. Yet.

Definitely one of the things I would look for..

You can tell if your using the new or old version.. 2007 have tabs at the top for different sections while the old version doesn't have any tabs.

Only problem with Wordpad is that if you have some special formatting, it may not transfer over correctly.

Good luck
