A guy at work is bringing in a big pot of chilli to feed the crew.
He has asked us to bring condiments for the chilli. Questions 1. Should I be afraid? 2. What condiments do you put in your chilli? 3. This guy is Mexican so he should know how to makechilli con carne. What odds do you give on seeing beans? |
| Beans are probable; hope it is spicey but don't count on it . . so add to the above (with a plus 1 on the fritos): cilantro, fresh diced/sliced tomato/jalapeno, grated pepper cheese, green tabasco, saltines, tortilla chips with quacamole and hot sauce to go with it. |

Usually when I go all out for Chili, these are the things I try to have on the side and available for people to add or use... Shredded Cheese Sour Cream Jalapenos Corn Bread Tortillas Hot Sauce Diced Onions Oh shits... forgot all about cornbread. Make sure it's actual Cornbread and NOT cake. Pro Tip: Cornbread does NOT have sugar in it. |

Instead of onions and japalenos, I suggest pico de gallo - get a little of everything. Everyone else's suggestions are GTG. My personal favorite to put chili on is baked potatoes. [ETA] Chili isn't supposed to be super spicy. It's about the flavor, not a full-frontal assault with heat. I'm much more in favor of a properly seasoned chili and letting others add hot sauce or cayenne to kick it up if they're so inclined. |
