I don't mean to increase the tin foil hat quotient but..............
I don't know if anyone has heard about this, but 32 states have called for a constitutional convention to add a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. A balanced budget is fine with me, but as we have seen from the recent POTUS election Americans will vote for any damned thing, like making firearm ownership illegal. I found several web pages talking about this. If I can find this with my meager google skills, I am sure that someone on here who knows their way around the internetz can find a lot more. The liberals are strongly against the chance of a constitutional convention and have been for years. They are afraid the ultra right will pass an anti-abortion amendment or ban same sex marriages.
