Anyone camp with just their significant other? I'd like to hike out a couple of miles, set-up, sleep overnight and hike back out with my wife.

Thanks!

I'd rather have a root canal, my wife only pretended to like the outdoors when we first met; I'm still hearing the about the time I "made her" hike Mt Escudilla.

Mine said she used to hike...I've hiked a couple of times since we've been married, but not with her.

We're going to Fort Tuthill in Flagstaff for Thanksgiving, but we're lugging all the kids with us

Couple of times a year we camp for 3 or 4 days. No backpacking, but lots of hiking on trip.....

My idea of camping is to hike out from civilization. Away from camp sites and vehicles...any signs of civilizations. Take whats on our backs and get out.

I know Rizzo takes some HTF dudes out once or twice a year, but I usually miss those for one reason or another.

Anytime we can get away from the kids, my wife and I definitely hit the trails and camp out, usually under the stars.

I am into backpacking but my fiance is not.  She said she would try it but I am waiting for the right time for this and working up to it.  I have some easy spots to backpack into for when this happens as well.  Dont want to kill them the first hike and always want to be closer to an exit just in case it does not work out the first time.  1.5-2mi in.

We do, however, car camp and she LOVES it!  I do all the work so she just gets to sit around and relax!  We have gone camping a bunch of times now and she likes it more and more each time.

Sometimes we go with some of our couple friends too, so that really helps the non outdoorsy types.

Cant ask for better scenery than that area. Killed my first and only elk up there.

My wife likes "car camping" too. Usually 1-1.5 miles in and camp. She is really not into longer hikes and camp.

Yeah I love that area I was sad to hear it was affected by the fire. I don't know the extent of the damage but at least I've got to hike it a few times.

I fell in love with the White Mountains but when fuel prices went sky high I scaled back the frequency of my trips.

We go out a few times a year. Car camping. No way in hell would she hike with a loaded pack and sleep on the ground.

Which is okay with me. I like the luxuries that come with camping close to the vehicle.

Backpacking trips are with the guys.

We like camping just haven't been in forever. I have to do the car camping because of how out of shape I am. As soon as I can get comfortable with my level of fitness I plan on doing some backpacking camping trips, any chance to go camping is awesome.

Same here. My wife and I used to do this at least 6-10 times a year, probably a lot more than that the first few years, but after having kids and mixed work schedules and stuff like that it really died off. I still backpack or bikepack with friends a few times a year which is great but I also miss the ease/luxury of car camping with the misses a little.

Bikepacking on a bicycle or a motorcycle?

She wouldn't mind a small loaded pack. Some sleeping bags, a small tent and some MREs.

Do it while you can.  We planned to do it while we were in college, before we got married.  We managed car camping once, then college schedules got in the way.  The plan was for regular backpacking trips.  We already had the gear from previous needs.  Then we got married.  Life, jobs, more education, and then careers got in the way.  What started out as plans nearly 40 years ago stayed plans.  Now they're just dreams.  Do it.

We love to camp, but she won't do the backpacking, unfortunately. We found a great spot near soldier lake that seemed to be fairly remote in that we only saw a few people the couple nights we were there.

We really want to do some primitive camping near some good trout fishing and if there was a group of couples doing a trip like that, we would be in.
