With all of the custom knives I see (you know who you are posting new knife photos every week I have done a little google work, but has anyone actually built their own here in the HTF? Any insight or advice? |

Yep. My knife page Be prepared for some initial frustrations. And you'll need a good grinder, I use a Bader BM-3. Been too long since I made one, now that I think about it. |

I'd really like to have a tactical-type folder with a damascus blade and carbon fiber handle material. I've seen some customs made like that, but they're crazy expensive. |

What I am interested in making is something similar to their "bird & trout", model 1 & 1B. Just simple, high quality steel hunting/skinning fixed blade knives. |

| Well, over in the Armory we have our own blade forum here at ARFCOM; I have read some neat project threads over there from guys who either make their own from scratch, or from people who have bought theirs from just such a craftsman. |

If you are not even interested in knife making the 5 part knife making thread is well worth a read in the blade forum. Its well written and illustrated.
What do beginner knife makers sell D2 or S30V knives with micarta handles for? I know what an Ingram goes for
This is beginning to really really interest me as a little side business/hobby to tinker around with. |
