Back in October my parents asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I only wanted one thing, and I asked for a sharpening stone.
In the true nature of my dad, he went overboard. Did some searching online and found what he ordered. Not sure if this is the same online store he bought it from, but it's the right set. Extra coarse / coarse on one stone, fine and extra fine on the other. http://www.sharpeningsupplies.com/DMT-6-Dia-Sharp-Kit-P404C3.aspx
Took my pocket knife to it (which was in absolutely horrible shape) and I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed. Anyone else have these? Any tips/tricks? Seems pretty straightforward but I have to admit that I haven't done much sharpening before. |

I have a different series of DMT diamond stones. They work great using just water. Yup. I did some reading on the DMT website and this series of stone uses water, but only to help clean the polishings out. I wet the stone while working and just rinsed it off afterward. Worked like a charm. I was amazed how quickly the knife edge came back. |
