Hi-Cap Mag sale.... really?

Quoted:
What did I miss? They sent out an email ad proclaiming a "Hi-Cap Magazine Sale" less then a week after a very high profile/high casualty shooting using a 'hi-cap magazine.' I don't give a fuck what they want to sell, or the prices they want to sell at. I just think it was rather classless and bad for our hobby/lifestyle/industry to do that. |

Hell, half the firearms industry is dusting off thier Glock 33 rd mags to sell this week... The real people who should be ashamed are the libs who are generating this hype by blaming anyone but the criminals. |

I am not talking about it being smart business move, or how .gov should ban the sale of items used in crimes. I am just saying their ad was without tact. |

Quoted: I overheard a gun shop owner say yesterday he thinks "Hi-Capacity magazines are gone" to one of his patrons; meaning he thinks a ban of standard capacity magazines is imminent. Way, way, way out of touch...I would call that marketing coming from a shop owner. |

So what is the latest regarding the legislation of high cap mags. You guys seem pretty confident it won't happen. Can I ask why? I really don't know anything about it. I just want to share your enthusiasm. Because there have been few times in the past 100 years in the United States where there has been a lesser chance of successful gun control legislation. The House is solidly Republican, the Senate knows they'll get their asses voted out if they pass anything related to gun control. The state legislature is securely Republican. Now is NOT the time for gun control legislation to succeed. |

That, and the fact that there are now millions of mags out there that now say "Restricted to Military/LE Only" that are owned by Joe public. After the 1994 Klinton Krime bill expired I bought almost exclusively LE marked mags. That way if the congress ever tries to ban them again, the only way they will be successful is by trying to TAKE THEM ALL from us as opposed to re-labeling them...and let me tell ya, that ain't happening. |
