Has anyone had problems with dual smoking gunns?
I ordered some rifles from them a while ago and they said their supplier had them in stock and my wait would be about a week. It's now been a month and their excuse was that the computer showed thme in stock but they are now on backorder. I only found that out because I called them after 2 weeks. I can't help but feel suckered into ordering a backorder item all along. |

I ended up getting what I wanted, kinda, after a very long wait there at DSG. I ordered 2 YHM cans through them. I figured I'd try giving my business to a local business, which turned out to be a mistake in this case. I was VERY specific on what I wanted; a SS QD 556 and a QD 762 (only comes as SS). They ordered directly from the factory. I took FOREVER for them to come in. (I now know not to buy cans that way; i.e. from the manufacturer) When they did finally come in the 556 was NOT stainless, it was just steel. I was REALLY unhappy, but after the stamps were in process, there's nothing which can be done. Both the lady that's always there and the owner just kinda shrugged their head and said sorry. And that's all they did or said. SOOOOOO, I figure, OK, guess I will just have to tell everyone who asks, exactly what I think of that place.
In my mind they are very similar to Beavercreek and the Security Store, maybe with a little better prices.. I will NOT be going back there ever again. that's it. Benji |

Could you:
1. Cancel the order? 2. Report it to your credit card company and dispute the charges if you used a credit card? 3. Tell them you want a refund because the items were NOT in stock as you were lead to believe? 4. Have them order from someone who does have the items you want in stock for the same (or better) price? Failing all the above, I think that posting to all the web boards what your experience was will be helpful. On the NWFirearms.com web site, there is a specific thread that allows people to put in their feedback on gunshops. It sure helps to know who is good, and who isn't. |
| I cancelled my order last weekend. They were very apologetic and refunded my money without question. I received my funds yesterday. I still plan on doing business with them if they have anything I like in stock. I got my items from another dealer on the east side. I hope DSG can get their logistic issues resolved. It would be nice to see a gun shop on the west side succeed and maintain a good inventory on hand. I'll still never bring myself to go back to the security store... |

glad it worked out. They are nice, I'll give 'em that; but nice doesn't always equal good customer service... I share a couple of your thoughts. Quoted: this: It would be nice to see a gun shop on the west side succeed and maintain a good inventory on hand. and this: I'll still never bring myself to go back to the security store... |
| They deserve credit for giving you a refund once you requested it. I had a similar experience with Ohio rapid fire when I bought a Yugoslavian M76 rifle. It kept bursting cases, and I suspected headspace issues. I returned the rifle and they gave me a refund. But what I really wanted was a rifle that worked, and would shoot surplus 8mm ammo.. |
