huh...

i'd like to meet him sometime and visit.  he and i have disagreed a few times, but curiousity draws me to strike up a conversation with him regardless.

win some, lose some.

He was nice enough to me the time I met him in person.

I have run across a couple of his posts that were less than cordial, but didn't follow him enough to get a consistent sense.

I thought he was a good guy in person. I asked him about a disagreement we had here on ar and his response was that he liked playing the devil's advocate, and that no one should be taken seriously on the net.

devils advocate, a**hole, or whatever. What does it matter? He's nobody important, so why even make a thread about him. Can't we just delete this and talk about something important like large breasted women and firearms.

Do you really think that anybody here cares about either one of those?  We're all professionals...........aren't we?

Nope, can't delete this because the big breasted women with firearms would have nothing to talk about then.

I had no problem personally with David in person or in my conversations with him on the internet but I know that he did rub a LOT of other people the wrong way and that is what got him in trouble and banned from here.

you mean something important like:

"Watch Out for Sportsman's Warehouse"
archive.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=8&f=42&t=258630

"Be sure of your prices and check your receipt before leaving.

I was at Sportsman's Warehouse tonight and picked up six thousand primers. Instead of charging me the price you get when you buy one thousand, they pulled the 100 pack out and tried to charge me that price.

That would have been a $2 difference for a total of $12. You just can't trust anybody anymore."

are you the pot or the kettle?

Damm Septic Tank, now I know how you got your name, because you are full of it. I guess if I were a Team Member and lived on this forum and had over 3000 posts, maybe I would feel special too.  Don't you have any else better to do besides dig up old threads and sling them around. All hail the enlightened ones, for they are great with wisdom and knowledge.

That night at Sportsmans, the dick with the rotten tooth tried to rip me off and I wasn't going to stand for it. If their help isn't better informed on the products, then they should take more time in briefing them.

If you were getting ripped off by a vendor or store, wouldn't you try to pass the word around to help others.

By the way, the link is restricted to team members, if you want to throw dirt around, make it so that the non-team members can access the thread. At least try to get it right.

You left out the rest of the story.

If someone who happened to work at said location as a peon saw you had issues and went to the trouble to try to do you a good turn, off board, would you show them a bit of courtesy or would you be rude?

Sorry, I feel the need to step in because I know that aforementioned peon could care less about how the place he happens to eek out a living through is perceived, and offered his gesture out of kindness.  I also know that he wanted to do something nice for someone he didn't happen to know in this community.

I also doubt he will post here because it is pointless to argue something you don't seem to get.

Although I am aware you "didn't need his charity," you could have at least acknowledged that he was attempting to be friendly.

I have witnessed Hineline be an asshat online.  Evidently he got what he had coming.

He is not the only curmudgeon here.

Just my .02.

i enjoy the forums.  so sue me.  i try and contribute when i can, and although i spend most of my time in forums other than this one, i get i kick out of some of this.  i have spent a great deal of time and personal resource towards the precision rifle forum - thus, my post count may be higher than some, but far less than many.  who fucking cares?

if i was genuinely ripped off, yes i would.  if there was some confusion, then that is another story.  if you  knew at the time you were still in the store that there was confusion and you chose to pay an additional $12 just so you could bitch, then i hope your $12 was well spent...  if it was that or anything else, it really doesn't matter - i wasn't part of your experience.  i'm really not too worried about it one way or the other.

those folks with team membership can view all of what was written.  as you can plainly see i copied and pasted your post so those without team memberships could view your hypocrisy in all its splendor.

that is my point.  we all are guilty of being hypocritical from time to time, and that certainly includes me.  if you want to take it a step further, you yourself can be banned for the name calling above if someone chose to push it...  i've locked horns with david a couple times publicly and privately.  still, i won't take a shot at him while he's unable to defend himself.  i'm not defending his bad behavior - i'm reminding everyone that the same genre of thing he was banned for is the same type of thing some of us do from time to time.

grow up.

I remember seeing some examples of his "craftsmanship" at a MG shoot a while back.

He had a krink there.  The front trunnion was screwed in (loosely, so much so that it wobbled around inside the receiver), the trigger guard was jb-welded on, and the rear trunnion was riveted.

If that's the craftsmanship with which he approaches customer builds, it's a wonder he has any business at all.

That, coupled with his desire for $50 for one magazine to run through the rickety thing, made me have second thoughts about ever dealing with him on anything.

He's begun carrying his attitude onto other forums now as well, and it wouldn't surprise me if he runs completely out of e-friends before springtime next year.  Maybe it'll give him more time to learn to build an AK properly.
