| Was looking through the local paper this morning and it appears that the Detroit PD and Churches will be doing a buy back to get "dangerous guns" off the street. 25$ for long guns and hand guns, with up to 100$ for scary "assault" rifles. So if anyone wants to go shopping.... |
| Details (time, location, etc)? So the PD is offering to pay people money to turn their guns in. At which point I assume the PD will "destroy" them (i.e. the officers will just take them home?). Is that the idea? So if we go to these locations and offer people coming in say, $50 (double what the PD would), we could make out with some cheap guns? Am I following that? |
| Ive heard of dealers/collectors hawking the sidewalks when people are walking in. You can offer $200 for that original M1 Carbine that been sitting in someones closet and they think they just made out. Ive also seen some of the crap they bring in. Not even worth the $25. Long guns are legal to do private sales just about anywhere. For pistols your going to need the permit or a CPL and a fist full of forms. |

There should be around 40 of us at this buy back attempting to save some guns from the smelter.

Some people have no clue what they have. They found it in grandpa's closet and never knew he had it and now they want to get rid of it. Wish I didn't have a meeting all day tomorrow at work or I'd take a few hours off to check it out. |
