I have a third party email asking to support the petition for Clark County Assessors office to re-evaluate home "worth" this 2009 fiscal year. It had something to do with a "detailed" evaluation they usually do every three years that they normally would do in 2010.
I googled it but found nothing. Anyone heard of this? It is probably another "National don't buy gas on this day" type of BS chain email. I am for anything that will lower my taxes. I tried to reply to the original email without susccess. Thanks V OUT |
| It's my understanding that this is done every year. If you think you're property is over valued by the department, you can take it up with the Board of Equalization or something like that. Forward the email to me and I can check with my wife and other Assessor's Office contacts to see what's fact or not. |

I thought the one done every year was a computation based on averages and one was done on physical inspection every three years, is how I read the email.
Like a clown I can't recover it after deleting it because of some auto wipe thing they have with our email. I am kicking myself for it, because it interests me now and I am out of the field for a couple of days. I am hoping it was a BS email anyway...boo. V OUT |

V OUT I guess it was a BS email: Link It is ALWAYS done on a computation basis. Thanks for the email with link Richard. V OUT |

Actually, some homes are over appraised and over taxed. If you had a "rental unit" it is taxed at 8% while owner/occupiers get taxed at a lower ( i think 3%). With house prices slumping and the county does miss some, you might be paying more taxes than you should.
You must file an appeal by January 15th if you want to contest the appraisal. Thanks Tony |
