Make sure you wipe thoroughly afterwards, moist baby wipes are handy if you have any problems at the back.

Thanks for the top tips everyone.

One other question, do you recommend any reading material or would that make me run the risk of getting a case of the Nobby's?

Please be quick, I'm getting a turtles head

A follow through in this scenario would probably be best described as an ND.

1. Push a loose patch soaked in Hoppes Benchrest, Butches Ring Piece Shine, etc through remonving any loose fouling - repeat this until the patches no longer come out looking brown (usually twice is enough).

2.   Leave the solvent in for 5 - 10 minutes and patch out with clean tight patches. If the patches have deposits on them repeat stages 1 & 2 or go on to using a bronze brush depending on how much fouling remains
