I can say the first time I ever felt an earthquake, I was reading threads on arfcom and the screen on my comp started wobbling. Was like wtf is this, stood up and felt whole house rocking, ran downstairs to see mother and sister panicking saying quick get in the basement?!?!?!
Reply was wtf are you serious get outside god damn. Now maybe I can get them onboard with the preps hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ETA: Is it bad that when I returned inside, instead of turning on the news to confirm I jumped on the ARFCOM hometown? hahahaha |

News says 5.9 quake on the east coast.
5.9 magnitude quake rocks East Coast http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2011/08/apparent-earthquake-rocks-washington-dc-area/1 Felt the building sway and thought someone was walking up the back fire esacpe which causes the buidling to shake. No one walking up it so figured it was quake somewhere. |

Entire blocks of New Britain were destroyed. Officials estimate damages to exceed thirteen dollars.
Whole areas of Hartford were actually improved. Governor baffled. Quake did not file for the proper permits in West Hartford or Glastonbury prior to the event, so the quake was not allowed. |

LOLOLOL.
I was on a ladder in Hamden/ North Haven hanging a CCTV camera. Bit of a rumble, I thought it was a train going by or a large truck on RT 5. Seems more solid rock on east coast vs many cracks and loose stone in Cali. Thats why transmission went so far. I was in a 5.3 in LA area, I woke up and almost shit my pants, screaming like a little baby, books fell off wall etc. Looked out the window, and not one house had a light on, no one in the street, they slept right thru it... A shake of that magnitude out there is like a thunderstorm here. NBD. First thing all the idiots did was jam cell phone systems with petty calls... |

I was out and about moving stuff, never felt a thing up in Dover, NH...I figured the granite state would reverberate wonderfully, but maybe it was just too far away. I had a friend tell me stuff was falling off her walls on central ave in Dover during the quake. I didn't feel it in my office though. |
