It looks like the Employee Safe Commute legislation has been shot dead for this year's session.

I don't have many details but it looks like we can thank Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey and Speaker Beth Harwell.

On a different note, remember we have elections coming this August and November.

Does this really surprise anyone? Given our protracted battle for restaurant carry, we should now be ready for (but still not liking) villification by the media, the handwringers & segments of business. FedEx is nothing but Randy Rayburn magnified many times over, IMO.

As I see it, I think it's their lawyers who is driving FedEx's opposition to this. I bet they're worried about this making it easier/more likely for someone to A) go postal; & B) have a hug lawsuit against them over the event (should one ever occurr). While anyone with a lick of sense knows that a company policy will never prevent someone going postal, we are talking about lawyers.................
