I have LOTS of little 16.4 oz propane tanks (like you would use for a camp stove or a small rediheater) that are empty and wanted to know if anyone knew of a buyback place or if anyone wanted them....if not I guess I can take them down to the recycling place off duramus?  Have over 50 probably, figured if I could get a little for them from a buyback place, or if someone could use them I would rather do that than just junk them.  I am in KC North, up around the N. Oak and Vivion area.

Well apparently the Duramus Haz. Mat recycling location doesn't accept these little tanks, anyone know of anyone else that might?  And it appears the few metal recycling places will take them but only cut in half...thats alot of cutting lol.

Over in the survival forum someone posted a link to a setup that you could use to refill the small bottles with a 20# bottle.
It may be a few pages back, I'll see if I can find a link. I know that doesn't really answer your question, but at least they could be useful to you if you had a way to refill them.

If none of that works out, they make great targets. More fun than cutting them up.

Interesting Adam..

Gogop - If I had land and my own range they would already serve that duty, but with the conservation guys yelling at me for shooting a cardboard target at pigeon (as in actual target, not like a box)...I don't feel like pressing my luck with 50 propane tanks! lol

Get a refill adapter, fill tanks from your BBQ tank. take to next free range shoot, bring a few road flares and enjoy!
