Can anyone recommend an FFL that either sells Essential Arms lowers or will receive them if I order them?  I am on the east side of Portland but will go all over Portland area to get it.  Also,  any comments from anyone who has purchased one of these lowers, would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

I know one in Vernonia that will receive them.

Just about any Dealer should be able to receive them. Call Essential and see if they will tell you which local Dealers they have done Business with, or have shipped too in the past. They should still have a copy of the FFL of any dealer they've done Business with.

Sorry but look in the yellow pages. I no longer mention any dealers through posts on this forum.
Go to a Gunshow and find the local dealers, this forum is not the place for it.

I may be all of those, but I was here for the melt down that one of these questions caused. If you don't know what the red "R" was for, you would never understand.
Let's just say that it caused this place to not be what it was. Because of it, I will never use this site to recommend another dealer who has NOT paid for advertising on this site. There are other places to find out about local dealers without all of the BS.
Many local dealers have accounts, but get their peepees smacked for saying so (unless they are paid advertisers). Just a sore spot with me.
Sorry quichyerbitchin for shitting in your thread. IM me and I can give you the name of a few good dealers in the area that you will not find in the phonebook but whom I can't mention in public. This Forum is NOT for local (unpaid for) advertisment, just ask any Site moderator/administrator/owner.

You "might" want to take a second look at Essential...

They are really not worth it when you consider quality.

This is purely my opinion, but I am entitled to it.

There are other options that might cost a few bucks more, but don't look like someone went to town with a grinder.

A few friends and I bought a couple of EA lowers with the hard coat and they all looked great. Nice machining and fit. I would buy from them again.

Hard Coat?

Are you referring to the spray paint finish?

or have they changed things since the last time I looked?

The "OD" and "TAN" lowers were spray painted the last few that I've seen.

I have had a few of these lowers and the machining is the worst I've ever seen on modern receivers.

I don't believe these are spray painted now. I ordered a few from them about a year and a half ago. I'm not sure what the hard coat is, but it's shinier. I prefer the non-hard coat. Yes the machining isn't the prettiest, but they have worked well for me. My first AR was built on a EA lower back in '90. Those were cast and nor forged. It held up well.

I didn't order any other color besides black. I did mollycoat one OD though. It looks like the hard-coat would be harder for any coating to stick to, but didn't try.
