So there I was…it was time to assemble the upper receiver. All the parts were securely wrapped in a small pastic bag and stapled tightly shut. I grab a small cardboard box and gently slide each part out…

Forward assist...check.
Forward assist spring...check.
Forward Assist Spring pin...check.
Ejection port cover...check.
Ejection port cover spring...check.
Ejection port cover pin...check.
Retaining cover ring...check.

I assemble the forward assist.

I move on to the ejection port... Make sure I still have all four parts...Confirmed.

I put together the cover, pin, and spring and go to grab the cover ring…you know that tiny little POS...

Grab a refrigerator magnet and start sweeping it around, you might find it.

If we had assembled this together, none of this would have happened...

It's a little late now, but when I'm putting a rifle together I keep all the small pieces in one of those magnetic bowls.
