So as many members here know we need Timers for the club. I'm sure people are tired of having to use their own personal timers. So I propose we buy two timers. I would like some suggestions on specific brands and models
Also we would like to get some more active targets. I really like MGM Targets so I'd suggest we take a look there and people are welcome to make any other suggestions. We want to buy quality our steels get shot A LOT and we need something that will last. I'd really like to get more reactive style targets to cut down on having to wait for someone to tell you that you're hits are good. MGM Targets hostage target Precision Target Triple slider and literally a ton of other targets there would be great to really mix up our courses. Also someone mentioned walls that we could easily collapse and take back and forth. I don't know how feasible this is since we cant really leave that at the range but if anyone has any suggestions let me know. |

I addition to the above stuff we need to have an FDCC Blow out kit, for emergencies.
200$ would be right about what it would cost to put one together and I would conduct training with anybody who wants it. Its not hard to treat a gun shot wound if you know how to remain calm and have few simple tools. |

I think the more steel the better. Obivously re-setting targets would be the best at eliminating re-set time but I know they would cost more. One of the texas stars would be awesome, you could include that into every COF as
either a starter or a finisher to a stage. I cannot suggest timers but maybe more of what we are already using. Do we need donations? I'm willing to shell out some dough although it might not be alot but it would be something. I also have another VTAC barricade, I left one at the FOP and have another Id be willing to donate. I would just want to either give it to you guys or see if we could leave it at the range in Lake City. |

I'd like to be able to use it proficiently so, I'd volunteer up for the training. |

Any suggestions on timers any thoughts on targets? Thanks Marcus for volunteering your time. If we figure something out I'll let you know. I was hoping for more participation on this thread. The only two timers I have personally used were the PACT Club timer III and the Competition Electronics Pocket Pro and they both are $129.00. I know in the past that there was always a donation jar but, I haven't seen one the last few matches I attended. I, just like rubin, have no reservations at all with donating a fair share to help the cause. |

Whenever you guys decide what you want to buy, just get with Neil for approval and I will release whatever money is needed to cover the expenses. |

The steel targets that the club originally obtained have lasted about 9 years and some are still being used with some repairs and TLC. This is a testament to the quality materials, welding, and skill by Chuck. Most of the damage to these targets were from hits to the side and odd angles due to the target rotating or from penetrator ammunition.
The replacement targets should also be extra strong and simple so that we may get the most use out of them with the least amount of repairs or loss due to failure of steel plate. The informal nature of the club allows all types of weapons and with that all types of calibers and bullets. The targets will need to be the strongest that we can afford and still be portable. We should also spend some time thinking about the bases and stands. The bases should keep the targets from rotating. The stands should be from a steel that can take multiple hits or be a 2x4 that is easily replaceable. Another company that has a very good reputation for steel targets is ACTION TARGET. They sell targets and also can build you an entire outdoor/indoor range. The company has given discounts to clubs and we may also qualify for a discount. The following are links to their products: AT Torso http://www.actiontarget.com/store/statictargets/at-torso.html AT STATIC http://www.actiontarget.com/store/statictargets/at-static.html AT Hostage http://www.actiontarget.com/store/catalog/category/view/id/14 AT stand http://www.actiontarget.com/store/at-static-stand.html Timer The club is currently using the PACT timer and for the money best meets our requirements. PACT Club shot Timer 3 http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=966974 Trauma / First aid These two items should cover the clubs needs, but if anyone out there is doctor or paramedic and has better choices please add your recommendations: Trauma Quick Clot http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=633614 (plus) First Aid Kit -Large http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=467788 Miscellaneous The club also needs a post setting tool (obtainable from Lowes, Tractor Supply). Ours is broken. Plastic Tackle boxes (2) - for each timer [also extra batteries, plastic freezer bags to cover timer in rain] Several steel targets are broken and can be restored to usable condition. We will need angle iron, bolts, nuts, et cetera. The estimated repair cost will be about $25-30 for each target. We should obtain enough materials to repair ten targets. Other Consumables –– 2x4, 1x2, target pasters, paint Other Thoughts The texas stars are a great training aid, but are intended primarily for pistol use and they are not build strong enough to handle repeated hits from high power rifle. I have seen one used at another match and was broken by "bad" hits by a high powered rifle. IF purchased it should only be used for pistol ONLY. Midway USA sells MGM line of products, timers, first aid kits, and paper targets. IF we decide to go will MGM this would allow for one stop shopping and order all the most needed items at one time. Or we could place two orders. The first with Midway for everything but the steel targets. The second with the steel target company to obtain a club discount for targets and shipping. In Conclusion We need to set a deadline for discussion and review of products. Once the deadline is reached the primary parties should finalize the needs of the FDCC and create the shopping list. Then coordinate with Matt on payment of items ordered. |

I have a personal one I keep in my car and make sure I have on hand for matches, but the only FDCC match I've shot was Oct. 2010. |

I stock 8' 16ga/14ga and 10' 13ga perforated angle for a garage door manufacturer and I could donate a few sticks on top of getting it for manufacturer's cost.. |
| There was discussion about a BOK for FDCC a few months back, but we decided that there would be no official FDCC trauma kit. It's a really good idea for people to bring their own stuff in case they need it, though. Sam was off having fun somewhere out of state when this discussion was held. |
