Thanks to everyone that helped out. Even with a lot of our guys gone for the Jared Reston class we still had around 60 shooters.

Thanks for posting the scores! I've been curious where I'd fall. Looks like I'm #14 on the list. It was my first time out and I didn't ask to get the first couple stages on film but I got the last 3 I shot with squad #2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GR6gQIFKLcM&feature=youtu.be&hd=1 ![]() I had a great time, lots of nice people and a challenging course. Definitely will be coming back. I'm looking forwards to your video Omega! |

Awesome video Martin. I can't believe you beat me (and everyone else) on Stage four. You recognized a jam, drew your handgun, re-holstered your handgun, and cleared a jam and still had the best time. Not too shabby. |

AAR FDCC 9-30-12
Another great month with FDCC We had right around 60 shooters total at the match. A good portion of our regulars were at the Reston Group Training class. class so if not for that we may have had 70 or so shooters. It was a fairly hot and humid day and people started to really feel the heat. I'd like to remind anyone that comes out to make sure that they properly hydrate. Proper hydration isn't done the day of the match. You should start drinking water at least the day before but preferably up to 2 days before at least 5 glasses of water a day to get your body close to the proper hydration level. Also make sure you eat something and maybe bring some snacks to hold you over until the end of the match. Chuck wanted me to mention that when the stages get broken down it needs to be done in a neater fashion. Part of this is my fault but at the end of the day I had two people helping my load my truck and take it to the storage house and unload it. Please stick around break down your stage and put things back where they belong. FDCC 9-30-12 Martin I had a good squad for the match we moved fast and everyone helped which made sure the stages ran smoothly and quickly. I shot the match suppressed with my AAC M4-2000 on my 10.5 inch MK18 style SBR. With My Smith & Wesson M&P 9 Stage 2 Mouse Trap: I didn't get to completely hash the stage out as the short targets heads should have been visible from certain places etc. But sometimes that's how that stages go. I shot this one kinda slow. I had re-zero'd my Aimpoint earlier that morning and knew that it was on. However being that it was now brighter when I brought it up to my line of sight the dot wasn't as visible as I would have liked. And of course this cost me time. I didn't really run the stage as fast as I had envisioned I also had a round that didn't go off when I pulled the trigger which slowed me down for sure. But it was a fun stage and I really liked that there were many options on how to run it. I saw a lot of people varying their plans and I like it when shooters have the freedom to do things different ways. Stage 1 Make Entry: So this is a Home Defense style scenario where I wanted people to have to make shots immediately upon entry and to have to pay attention to the T style opening at the Mid and end of the hallway. It was a pretty fast stage and I did pretty good on this one. I just regret that I forgot to turn the camera on at the end of the hallway. Stage 3 Oil Change gone bad. Did pretty good on this one I made most of my hits fairly fast and ran the stage the way I had planned. The pistol shots from that close are fun. I like Steel targets that are setup in that particular order. I shot the front three and as they were falling I was able to take the back three as clean up. If you shoot one and wait for it to fall to hit the back one you're wasting valuable time. My rifle hits went fast and I moved on to the triple dropper the least fair target of all. Which is what I love about it. Stage 4 Around the Corner: I had been having problems here and there with one particular mag and after cleaning it I figured I'd give it one more chance. Of course it failed on me again and so I transitioned to pistol cleaned up cleared the malfunction on the run and finished out the stage. Stage 5 5-5-5-5: I bombed this stage. I took 80 seconds and missed a lot. I didn't have the best zero on the rifle but oh well. Next time. |
