I haven't purchased a lower receiver ever and I'm wanting to soon. I don't know anything about it so I need help. I talked to a guy at a shop near me ( alpharetta, ga) who had one and he was no help at all.

All you will need to do is find a local FFL Dealer in your area that can handle the "out of state" transfer. If you run into a Dealer that huffs and puffs about you purchasing out of state then tell him or her to order what you want and match the price. There are a lot of good vendors and choices on this site....have fun shopping. |

Use these guys...I live in Milton and have sent several recievers to them. They have Spikes and PK Firearms FFL on file. Go to the site and buy the lower. List them as the FFL to ship to. They will call you as soon as it is in...$25 + paperwork and your out the door.

You can also check out Bullseye in Lawrenceville. They have a ton of various makers stripped and complete lowers for about what you would pay online. No shipping, no wating, and no transfrer fee either. I bought a Rock River complete lower with six position stock for $269 there. Not bad.
Presuming you're 21 or over, you purchase it like any other firearm. If they have it in stock, you buy it on the spot, if you want to get a particular type, you order it from the distributor and have your FFL send a copy of their license to them (presuming they don't already have it on file). I've never bothered buying one online, I've usually been able to get a reasonable deal locally (I live not far from cdtracing, who runs Semper Fi Arms, and will be giving him more business now that my divorce is basically settled).

If I was going to have something transfered in to the Cumming area, it sure wouldn't go to Bullseye. It would go to Forsyth County Pawn. Good service and the will only charge you $10 for the transfer. Just call them and tell them that you need an FFL faxed for a transfer and tell them what the dealer who you are buying the receiver from fax number is. Tell the dealer that you buy it from to include a piece of paper with your name and telephone number on it and when Frsyth County Pawn gets it, they will call you. Done deal.
