Do any of you have experience with the FNAR? They seem to get good reviews. Any opinions?

I have shot one several times.  Dead nuts accurate and very little felt recoil.  It also feels real good in the hand with that AR style pistol grip.  If you are thinking about getting one?  Try to get the 18" HB version.

No such beast as an 18" version. Only a 16", 20" and 20" HBAR.

My 20" standard is a superb rifle. Shoots 5 shot groups at 100 yds. that can be completely covered by a nickle. The rifle really likes 168g SMK Federal GMM .308. Other ammunition shoots very well including Remington Core-Loc and Federal Fusion but it is not realistic to expect them to group like the FGMM. Last week I was able to get some Federal GMM 7.62x51 175 SMK but haven't had it out because it's been so cold here in the north east. But GA_Gunner is correct about the soft recoil. If you live somewhere that has a hog population I would get the 16" if you can find one. If you just want a standard all-purpose rifle then get the 20" standard. If you like to spend time at the bench or don't mind that extra pound of steel on the front end then get a 20" HBAR. All 3 come with FN's sub-MOA guarantee. BTW: The rifle is beautifully constructed and all parts feel like they are manufactured to very high quality standards. Here is a photo of mine when I first bought it. Keep in mind that the rings I had were a bit too low for a 50mm objective bell (Burris Signature Zee 30mm medium height) but I was anxious to get it to the range to try it out. Since then I have replaces the rings with Burris Signature Zee 30mm high rings and the clearance is sufficient to get the ocular bell a little closer to my eye and still have about half a millimeter of clearance for the objective. The scope is a Bushnell 6500 Elite Tactical 4.5-30x50.

I do stand corrected.  Sorry for the misinformation there.  I couldn't remember if it was a 16" or 18" HB.  I just remeber it was a really short barrel for a .308.  But they are very sweet rifles.  I plan on getting the 20" HB version really soon.  How much are extra mags for this rifle?

I am going to shoot today, and apparently one of the people that will be there just bought one of these. I will see if I can get a couple of rounds out of it and let you know what I think.

I've never shot one before but I've handled one and FNH makes some great stuff. Provides a good alternative to the M1A but idk which one I prefer.

Shooting trip cancelled :( I was sorta hesitant about using ammo anyways, but the landowner had some stuff come up.

So what is that thing anyways? Looks like a .308 sks with a fancy stock and barell.
