Will this pistol ever get on the approved list?  How long does it take a new handgun to get on the list?

hahaha yess p90 as a handgun? bad ass...

unfortunatly witH the barrel shroud/secondary pistol grip wouldnt work....although the mag is in a position that i think doesn't make it an AW

I'd by the five seven if it was approved but theres no high caps availalbe for it, at least in california. No way you could have legally owned thme before 2000

The problem is, you know that with the "armor piercing" ammo it'll never get approved here just from a liberal point of view.

I heard there was a round specially made for the Five-seveN that was NOT armor piercing. I think I saw it on Gunbroker, but I could be wrong.

with the 5.7 they were looking for a round that penetrated the target more like a 9mm than a .223 (overpenetration has been an issue) but at the same time they still wanted to be able to get through body armor.

I'm sure CA will not look at this as a "police" friendly gun.  CA bans anything that looks like it can protentially kill people. We are allowed to only own guns that can't kill people because we don't need guns for self defence because it is the police's responibility to protect us...oh wait(insert supreme court ruling here).

Oh one more thing...if by chance it ever did get approved, I'd be one of the first to get one. I want one!!! :(

I believe that there are several different types of ammo for these weapons. The box of SS192 that I have, however, is simply the FMJ training ammo. IIRC, the armor-piercing stuff is SS190. They may also have a subsonic round and by now even a frangible round available. If you want to know more, ask LarryG36 in the NV forums; he's got a P90.

Got this email from FN

"Sir,

The answer to your question is Yes.  FNH is already working on getting the five seveN pistol authorized for sale in CA, however we are not sure yet when it will be.

Thank you for the comment on the email address I will forward the message to our IT department.

Best regards."
