They are a very fun to play with, especially the FA ones. The have a very high rate of fire, much like the MAC-11's. I think it's a great PDW/confined space setup. http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/E-P90_Edited.JPG USSA-1 Look at that, he pulls the trigger so fast it wore out the finger on his gloves!!! I have a PS90 and SBR'd it.. I like the gun alot.. Before we digress into the "5.7 is no better than a 22 magnum arguement" I like the gun, the ergonomics. The factory white sight leaves a lot to be desired and can get washed out in bright light. you can get aftermarket sight enhancers that work real well (Look Here ) or TROS makes a low mount for the Aimpoint, or you can get the tri-rail version.
On the plus side On the down side I live in the ATL if you want to get together sometime let me know... Chris |
| Palmetto State Armory has 2k cases for $740 + $12 s/h (I believe that's the correct ship price). Linky |

I had one and got ride of it about a year ago. They are way overpriced for what they are. Try getting replacement parts for it. You will probably never get them, cause they don't exist anywhere. I tried getting extra fire control parts, extra bolt assembly, hell even an extra stock, and nothing was out for it.
The mags are selling between $75-100 a peice now on Gunbroker.com because everyone is out of them. The police issue ammo the 192s, are good because they yaw on impact and penetrate well. However, the 195s and 197s aren't very good for self defense. The 192s are extremely rare and are 50% more in price while they last. They are banned from being imported except by law enforcement. If you like the round, I would get the AR-57 instead. Takes the same mags and ammo, but is american made and you can swap out uppers, stocks, etc. Total price for an AR-67 is $1100. where the PS90s are selling for $1600 and up. Cheekweld on a PS90 is horrible if you have an optic. The optic that comes with the standard model is awful and you can't see the reticle in lamp lit rooms because they made it yellow and it gets washed out. They made a Secret Service model of the sight, but it costs over $500 for the replacement sight. Unless you have money to spare, and don't mind having a gun that will be near impossible to buy extra parts for, I wouldn't invest the money. |

Its fun up until you have to shoot someone with it Is this from experience? Did the shot not affect the person? Any additional details? ByteTheBullet (-: Two different shootings, the first was 7 yards through a windshield and stuck into his forehead and was pulled out of his head by hand. the second the subject was hit with a 5 round burst in the back and continued running, several hours after he was caught he stated to the police that it felt like a bee stinging him, those were both with a P90, |

ok... I can help here...
I've owned 2 P-90's and a PS-90... the P90's are a blast to play with if you can keep up with the ammo cost... BUT from my experience they aren't worth their weight when it comes to combat firearms... they jam like crazy, once you get into high use (say 5k+ rounds) they don't like to run with out being cleaned and rebuilt constantly. When the Belgians where over here doing some training with the marines they brought them... after day 2 of a 2 week school we made the Belgians switch to M4's for urban warfare school... I've even had one P90 KB in my hands. the upper receiver shot right over the lower. the lower was split right down the seam line... needless to say they are fun toys, and ballistic you have to consider it was made to put high number of rounds on target. which it does fine. having seen wounds caused by the 5.7 I can say that the SS192 looks kind of like 9mm ball. while we all know that 9mm ball isn't the best out there... 50rds of 9mm ball will kill any living thing on Earth. think of it that way. Now I said all that to say this. My PS-90 was a JOY to shoot, accurate enough I often stuck a ACOG (don't count on using the BDC) or even a Short-dot on it. SS197 makes a damn good squirrel/varmint round. and the 50rd mag mean 1 mag will last you all day. I have had problems with P-90 mags in general being left loaded and the springs getting kind of squishy. but they always fed ever round. they just felt a little soft.... I trusted my PS-90 enough it rode car gun for 5 months. It was accurate, compact, and hard as hell to beat in a close quarters setting. not to mention the the rifle, and 2 50rd mags could easily fit in a laptop bag. The big down fall is when people try to compare the p-90 to AR's... it isn't a rifle. it is a PDW. which means handgun with more ammo and easier to aim... If you really want a PS-90 I suggest you get one. they are fun to shoot, accurate (sub MOA capable), ammo is actually cheaper than brass cased 5.56 in most cases, and it has a cool factor that is off the charts. I don't think you'd be disappointed in it. ETA: I think I should note that wound profiles I've seen with 5.7 have been on flesh with no clothing. we used human analogues for testing. as we find ballistic gel ...leaves something to be desired. we have seen and are now conducting test on weather or not 5.7 can actually penetrate heavy clothing. |

Thanks I"m gonna go with the PS90 just because of the "Cool factor" and its completely diffrent from my entire collection. now my only problem is where the heck do I secure some ammo to feed it. I have seen that Bass pro sells it and Bulls Eye marksman in cumming sells it. |

I held one once and liked it but ammo costs keep me away. +1 on the costs of ammo. Trigger is clunky (not as bad as an FS2000). I can see uses in a true P90/PDW role where dumping massive amounts of ammunition and breaking contact are in need, in a small package. Other than that, I'm not overly impressed. IMHO the semi PS90 is there for the wow factor, nothing more. YMMV. |
