| Hey guys, I have a quick question. My dad's putting in for his FOID card (I'm hoping to infect him with BRD). I resized his picture in Photoshop and I was wondering if the picture needed to be in color or if black and white was OK. Anyone know? I couldn't find any info on the form. |

(430 ILCS 65/6) (from Ch. 38, par. 83‑6)
"after December 1, 2002, the Department shall use a person's digital photograph and signature from his or her Illinois driver's license or Illinois Identification Card, if available." Doesn't say anything in the act about it being a color photo. The new FOID cards do look quite a bit different now, and the one I saw used the DL pic. |

Mine is one of the new ones and was renewed not that long ago... still good til '12. Doesn't use my DL pic, though. Weird. Must not have been 'available.' |

Quoted: Quoted: Easiest thing I found was just go to Walgreen's or anywhere that does passport photos. Costs about $7 and your done in minutes. Yeah, I did that and forgot to ask what the dimensions of the picture were. When I got them they were too big. Oops. I remember using the $2 "strip of pictures" booth at a local shopping mall for my first one, and then one at a KMart a few years later. |
