In Valdez, April 1st and 2nd there will be a FREE Combat Medic Course offered by the National Guard.  Obviously these are usually more expensive.  It is a two day course, both days from 8AM-5PM.

Let me know if you have any questions, I will do my best to answer.  I am not a part of putting it on, just attending, but if anyone is interested I will do my best to help.

If I could make it down, I'd go in a heartbeat.  Been years since I've taken anything bigger than basic first aid.  Best of luck in the course and have fun

The National Guard is offering a combat medic course or the state defense force?

Arizona National Guard is teaching it through the Defense Force I believe. and the ADF has nothing to do with it at all.  Just the National Guard as they are stuck here a couple of extra days after their training.

Contact Valdez Fire Department for more information.

15 hour course.  Free.  April 1st and 2nd.  Dont wear nice clothes because you will get dirty.  Semi limited spots available, so contact the Valdez Fire Department and they will put you on the list if you are interested.  It will be held at the Valdez Civic Center in the Ball Room.

So I just checked my work email (even though I'm on unpaid leave) and had an email about this.  Well the live training on the 31st.  Shame I'm not working as it would be interesting.  Fairbanks and Valdez are doing a lot of training.

Btw Fairbanks guys, expect to hear a lot of ambulances on monday.

Yea this is the week of it right before the 1st and 2nd.  The AZ guard got stuck up here waiting for transport, so they are putting together the course with our local FD for the civilians.  Pretty cool of them
