Result of a failure to fire and a really, really stuck shell. I just wanted some sympathy, cause my friends don't have any idea what a buffer tube even is.

OP,
You went about this story all wrong... it should have been something about repelling angry hoards and running out of ammo and using your AR as a club, or rescuing orphans from a burning building. Yeah, that's it, and you used you AR to lift a burning beam off of a poor orphan child, resulting in the damage to the receiver extension. Not this crap about a FTF and banging your rifle on the ground to clear it.
